Most expense trackers assume you spend in one currency. Gastos doesn't. When you land in a new timezone, Gastos detects the change and offers to enable Travel Mode. Once active, you log expenses in the local currency — pesos, baht, euros, whatever — and Gastos converts them back to your home currency using cached exchange rates that work without an internet connection. At the end of your trip, you get a full breakdown by tag and category, all in your home currency, so you can see exactly what you spent without doing mental math. That means your spending data sits on someone else's server, tied to your email, subject to their privacy policy and whatever third-party analytics SDKs they've embedded. Gastos takes the opposite approach. Every expense you log is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. There is no account creation, no email collection, no server-side storage, and no tracking SDKs. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it as JSON or CSV.
